As the weather begins to warm up, we want to make sure all of our students at Huntsville Middle School are comfortable while they are here learning each day. With the change in seasons, this is also a good time to remind everyone that the Scott County School System has a district dress code policy that is enforced at Huntsville Middle School.
Parents and students are encouraged to review pages 29 and 30 of the Scott County School System District Handbook for the full dress code policy. Teachers and administrators have reviewed these expectations with students throughout the school year.
Some of the dress code concerns we continue to see include:
• Shorts that are not mid-length
• Jeans with deliberate holes ranging from the waist to mid-thigh
• Hoods and hats being worn inside the building
HMS does have a clothing closet available for students who may need to change if a dress code concern is addressed during the school day.
We kindly ask for your help in reviewing the district dress code with your child so we can work together to ensure all students are dressed appropriately for school.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher or the HMS office staff. Thank you for your continued support of our students and school!
